5 things to do in Bristol near St. Brandon’s House

Rombourne’s serviced offices in St. Brandon’s House, Bristol, are in the perfect location for any lively, thriving workforce. As well as being just a 2-minute walk from Park Street, which has been named ‘Britain’s hippest street’ due to its bustling selection of shops, cafes, and restaurants, their serviced offices in Central Bristol are also a mere 15-minute walk from Cabot Circus in the heart of the city centre.

Being situated so close to Bristol City Centre means there’s always plenty to do, but this location isn’t just great for business meetings, or grabbing a quick bite to eat at lunchtime; from parks to museums, to Bristol Harbourside, here are 5 of the best locations you can reach within approximately 5 minutes of their Bristol serviced offices…

1. Brandon Hill Park (BS1 5RR)

As the building’s name suggests, Rombourne’s serviced offices in St. Brandon’s House, Bristol, can be reached by a short walk from the city’s famous Brandon Hill Park (named after their offices, perhaps?), which is home to Cabot Tower. This is the oldest park in the city, and it boasts great views of both the city of Bristol and its harbourside.

Containing a number of informal gardens, open grassland, and The Brandon Hill Nature Reserve (which was opened by Sir David Attenborough in 1980), the park is the perfect setting for a relaxing lunchtime walk, run, or picnic on the grass; in fact, Brandon Hill is a particularly good location for butterfly spotting and birdwatching. It’s also the best place in Bristol to watch the annual Balloon Fiesta.

With two exercise stations, which have parallel bars and hop overs, as well as one full basketball court, Brandon Hill Park is also ideal if you want to get your workforce moving in the great outdoors!

2. We The Curious Science Centre (BS1 5DB)

If you want a more unconventional lunchtime activity (or just something fun to do after you’ve finished a day at work), then We The Curious can be easily reached by car or a very short walk from their St. Brandon’s House serviced offices.

Famed for being one the UK’s biggest and best interactive science centres, there’s plenty to learn and do while visiting At-Bristol Science Centre. Learn something new by watching one of their live science or planetarium show in the UK’s only 3D planetarium, then treat yourself by tucking into a fresh cake at their award-winning café.

Science not quite your thing? Bristol Aquarium is conveniently located next to We The Curious. Choose from over 40 displays to enjoy, or take a solo or guided tour around the aquarium. They also host a selection of daily talks and feeding demonstrations.

3. Bristol Harbourside (BS1 5UH)

A defining feature of the city, Bristol Harbourside offers a little bit of everything; as well as offering an alternative way of commuting to work or travelling to-and-from different parts of the city via the Ferry Service, there are some great bars and restaurants for after-work socialising overlooking the harbour, plus the Arnolfini (international arts centre and gallery).

As well as your favourite chain restaurants, some lesser known gems just waiting to be discovered by the harbour include No1 Harbourside, The Olive Shed, and Spitfire Barbecue.

None of those take your fancy? Check out The Pump House for traditional pub fare with a unique spin. Sample a few from their selection of 600 gins, or if gin’s not your thing, choose from over 30 whiskies, 20 rums, and a wide selection of wines.

4. Boston Tea Party (BS1 5PF)

Boston Tea Party is another great venue situated near St. Brandon’s House, and it provides the perfect setting for either a pre-work breakfast, grabbing a warming, hearty lunch, or even socialising with your team by having a round of after-work drinks.

With its Park Street location, Boston Tea Party is just a five minutes’ walk from their serviced offices, so it’s the perfect option if you don’t want to venture too far for your lunch.

The independent British cafe also uses high quality suppliers from the South West, and many of these are dedicated to ensuring their produce is ethically sourced with minimal damage to the environment.

5. Bristol Museum and Art Gallery (BS8 1RL)

Another one for a quick lunchtime stroll or an interesting after-work activity, Bristol Museum and Art Gallery is just a 7-minute walk from their St. Brandon’s House offices, or a mere 3-minute drive if you’re tired from a full day at work!

Alongside regular events (including tours, rides, and exhibitions), you can brush up on your knowledge of history by exploring the museum’s various archaeological, natural, and art collections; these range from works from Bristol’s very own Banksy, to British archaeological objects, and more.

Bristol Museum can also be used for work functions, with the venue being available to hire for dinners, parties, and conferences.
