Your Total Guide To business

Admire PR's 2021 Business Growth & Plans

Today we're talking to Andrea Sexton of Admire PR who based her business in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire and Bristol.

April is here – how does this month fit into the ebb & flow of your year?

It feels exciting in business right now. Spring is here and COVID19 lockdown eases to the next level. I have some talented interns learning with us this month plus some parents who need flexible hours joining the team.

Our most popular service at the moment is our PR Hour session (details on our website).

Are you in a business which is either opening up this month – or preparing to open up?

We have been open and working remotely – we are looking forward to getting together later in the month for a team training day.

What are you most looking forward to as the country tries to ‘open up’?

I’m looking forward to being able to meet up with some of our clients in person – we have always used a lot of video calls and will continue to do so, but an occasional meeting will be welcome. Plus getting back with the team will be super.

It’s also Stress Awareness Month, what measures have you taken in your business to reduce the stress on yourself & your team (if relevant)?

As a leader and the founder of Admire, I set aside time to speak to each team member about ‘non work’ matters each week. We call them mentoring sessions – but really, it’s a chat.

I make sure they are getting the support they need and to find out how they are doing.  I call it getting beyond ‘fine’. We all say we are fine. I like to make sure.

What do you do personally to support your health and wellbeing?

I’ve started taking more breaks in the day plus I am well known for my love of the outdoors and running. I have three mentors who I speak to – they are a great support to me at this time.

Do you see your product/service as one which supports the health and wellbeing of others such as your clients?

Not directly – but we work with many health and wellness providers and by making them more publicly known, we can help the wider population.

As the year goes on, will you take health and wellbeing more seriously going forward?

I’m planning to take on several new staff members this year, as a result I will set aside health and wellness get together events for us all.

Have you got any big events - personal or business - you are preparing for later this year?

I’m very much looking forward to trade shows returning – I have one booked in for September and I really hope it will happen.

Have you got any Spring services or special offers you’d like to mention?

We would very much like to talk to companies who want to enter awards. If you are doing good through your business, we would be delighted to help you get recognition for that good work.

And finally:

It’s been a thoroughly tough year for all in business and in personal life too. I want to thank all our clients and business colleagues who have supported Admire and me personally.
