Business West Mentoring UWE Summer Entrepreneur Interns
Four Business West business advisors have volunteered to mentor students from the University of the West of England (UWE) during an eight-week summer internship programme. The programme aims to help students either start a business or move their existing small business forward.
The UWE employability and enterprise team are offering the internship to 32 students and each intern will receive a grant of £1,000 to support themselves over this time. This grant can be used for business development or to aid student’s cost of living while they are working on their business idea.
The Business West business advisers have now been matched with students and will mainly support them in getting a robust business plan in place. The team will also work alongside the students to help them develop themselves and their businesses over the summer.
The matches are:
- Tara Gillam: Jenna - Innovate (design student looking to get a product to market)
- Alyson Eyval: Lorynne - Cake Craft Bristol Ltd (trading lollipop business seeking expansion)
- Ollie Collard: Melissa/Dunya - The Real Brunch (food trader moving into St Nicholas Market)
- Andrew Mercer: Kurtis - (business idea to be confirmed)
Business West are delighted to be supporting these entrepreneurs over the eight-week programme and are delighted to see the variety and potential of these businesses over this time.
