Your Total Guide To business

South West entrepreneur Jodie Fraser named a UK property hero in national awards

Jodie Fraser, founder of Fraser Allen Estate Management, has been named as a winner in the Property Hero Awards 2020 for ‘going that extra mile in an exceptional year’. The awards celebrate extraordinary individuals within the property management industry who achieve things that often go unnoticed in the wider world.

Entries for the awards are made on behalf of property managers, concierge staff, managers, contractors or anyone else in the industry who has ‘gone that extra mile to support leaseholders and the teams that support them in this exceptional year’.

“I am thrilled to have won such a wonderful award. To be recognised for going that extra mile means so much to me. I thrive on delivering excellent customer service, but most of all I make sure that kindness is at the heart of my business. I believe that being kind builds better relationships with clients, but also with residents and staff,” Jodie said.

Putting people and their needs first is second-nature to Jodie. Both personally and professionally. She has run her property management company for more than four years, managing the homes of residents in apartment blocks across Bristol, Cheltenham and London.

“Many of the properties I look after are homes of older people, and I want them and their families to know that we are there for them and that we will support them,” added Jodie.

The business is also dementia-aware. First-hand experience of her grandma’s Alzheimer’s means that from the start the business ensured that anyone in the communities served by Jodie and her team would need not feel worried or distressed around the issue of dementia.

During the main 2020 lockdown, Jodie set up a team of volunteers to help those who were vulnerable or shielding and living in the company’s managed properties. From shopping for food to giving residents a call to check in, and from collecting prescriptions and medicines to posting letters, Jodie and her team made sure that no-one felt alone or needed to worry about managing essentials.

Last year, Jodie also bought tablet computers and donated them to a local charity that needed laptops for refugee children, having spent time with volunteers from Cheltenham Welcomes Refugees to better understand how she could help refugees who arrive in the area.

In Jodie’s own words: “Kindness is truly at the heart of everything I do. I love my business, and I love working with people. Put these two together and it means that I have a business where I can confidently say, ‘I care’.”

Jodie was also been named as Property Manager of the Year, and more recently named as one of the nation’s Small Biz 100 in a national campaign highlighting some of the UK’s most inspiring small businesses. To find out more visit https://www.fraserallenem.co.uk
