1 – How did you find your passion for stickers?
It just happened – now I’m just as obsessed as David and Michael about stickers. When I left uni I was working for David at a renewable energy company developing wave energy technology, that unfortunately didn’t pan out how we had hoped. David at that time asked if I wanted to join Kartdavid, I jumped at the chance and haven’t looked back since. We were already providing custom design and graphics for go-karts and Motocross. We started getting more and more requests for logo stickers and saw a gap in the market for stickers that were custom, at low minimum order quantities and had a short turnaround time. Sticker It was born. My ambition has always been to work hard at something I enjoy, though printing wasn't up there on my list of target industries when I left uni, it is very rewarding. Now stickers are a huge part of my life, you see them everywhere and it’s an amazing feeling seeing household brands, new start-ups and events using your stickers. That creates a passion, I think.
2 – Tell us about you personally
Ambitious, hardworking and love sport. A Cornish boy at heart, my family live down that way so I go back when I can. I love being by the sea and that’s why I studied Oceanography at Southampton University. I also took a gap year to travel Australia, South Africa and St Helena (Where Napoleon was exiled and I spent a few years of my childhood), I competed in a Yacht race called the Governor’s Cup Yacht race during that time as well. An amazing experience of sailing 1900 miles across the Atlantic.
When I’m not working you will probably find me playing sport or cooking – I find it a great way to relax. It’s probably the one place where I physically can’t work.
3 - What are your tips for people looking for stickers?
Be different to your competitors and stand out. We offer pearlescent, hologram, chrome and fluorescent these give your designs a little more, they catch the eye. With our small minimum order quantities if you aren’t sure how your sticker will turn out, try a small batch first.
We love a challenge so if you can’t see exactly what you’re looking for online or are a little unsure just ask. With 12 years of printing and designing experience we can always help you with any sticker enquiry you have however weird and wonderful it may be.
Finally, if you have your design already please upload the highest resolution file you have, this really speeds up the design and print process for us.
4 – Why the name Sticker It?
We honestly stumbled across it in a brainstorming meeting. But fundamentally you are Sticker(ing) It (whatever It may be)!
