Bristol Aquarium welcomes a new General Manager
The Aquarium’s very own Simon Hubbard has been promoted to General Manager at Bristol Aquarium.
Simon, who is known daily as Sunny, has worked for Bristol Aquarium for over seven years, starting as an Office Assistant back in 2015. From arrival, Sunny has been recognised numerous times with regular promotions and has now been made General Manager of the city centre attraction.
Sunny said: “I love working at Bristol Aquarium. Having always had a passion for animals I studied Animal Behaviour and Welfare at University and am now so proud to be running my very own aquatic zoo!
“Being passionate about animals and conservation was just the beginning. Since working at Bristol Aquarium I have loved educating and inspiring the next generation of budding marine biologists, My vision for the aquarium is to get involved in more city-wide initiatives and projects and increase our outreach into the local community.
“I am lucky to be surrounded by an incredible team who have been so supportive in my move up to General Manager. I am immensely proud of my achievement and hope to show anyone starting out on their career that hard work really does pay off!” Sunny added.
Bristol Aquarium is made up of seven themed zones and is home to thousands of aquatic creatures, located on Bristol’s harbourside, right in the heart of the city.
