Your Total Guide To eating and drinking

Relaunch at Revolution, Bristol.

Love for Bristol went along to Revolution Bristol to try their new food and cocktail menu. Carry on reading to find out what she had and her thoughts on the atmosphere, food and drink!

Popular city-centre bar Revolution known to many as 'Vodka Revs' has recently had a relaunch, including a new food and cocktail menu. We went to visit on a Sunday afternoon this differed completely to a Friday or Saturday night.

Arriving at 6pm it was considerably quiet, this gave me the opportunity to notice how spacious the venue actually is. The revamp looked great, adding a sophisticated feel with the warm colours and pretty lighting. The large bar area stood out with a massive gold vodka sign above it, suggesting they still specialise in vodka-based drinks.

We sat down in a booth near the massive windows that overlook the large outside area, a friendly member of staff came over to take our order. I wasn't expecting table service, this was nice and made it feel more like a restaurant. We ordered two cocktails - The Zombie and a classic Mojito. The Zombie was lit up especially at our table with a burner, this was definitely a moment for Instagram! You can get 2 for 1 cocktails every day until 9pm.

Food is served everyday 12-9pm with a wide range of choice, from grazers to burgers.  We went for - Full Rack of Ribs with nachos and fries (£12.50), Mac & Cheese (£6.50) and The Nachos Sharer (£9.00). We didn't wait long for our food to be brought out, I immediately eyed up the big portion of Mac & Cheese. This was a lot bigger than I was expecting it was really cheesy and tasted amazing! The Nachos were a bit disappointing I expected more cheese on top, so I decided to dip them in my Mac & Cheese. The Ribs had tender meat on them, we added extra BBQ sauce enhancing the flavour, the fries that accompanied the dish were nice and tasty too.

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by our meal at Revolution, the atmosphere was enjoyable on a Sunday afternoon and I assume it would be like this on a weekday afternoon. The Mac & Cheese was the best dish at a very reasonable price. There are lots of large tables making it perfect for a group event or party, especially with the sharer dishes on offer. If you are looking for a more lively experience visit on a Friday or Saturday night, live music or a DJ will be playing with a dancefloor area so you can show off your moves! You can even book a cocktail masterclass, for more information about Revolution, Bristol head to -
