Inspired by their sponsorship of this year’s world-renowned Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at M Shed, Bristol, Bristol Energy has launched its own photography competition: ‘Wild Bristol: Winter’.
The 100% green electricity and lower carbon gas provider has now opened the competition, inviting photographers of all ages and abilities to share their wintery snaps taken across the Bristol region.
Running for 4 weeks (until Sunday 23rd February), weekly winners will be awarded with a set of 4 tickets to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition; the most prestigious photography event of its kind, developed and produced by the Natural History Museum, London.
Photographs can be submitted by sharing them on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, tagging Bristol Energy and using #BristolEnergy, or by email at press@bristol-energy.co.uk.
Marek Majewicz, Managing Director of Bristol Energy, said: “On a mission to make Bristol a cleaner, greener and healthier place to live, we’re encouraging Bristolians to go green and support our city. In fact, this month we launched three new green products which have 100% green electricity and lower carbon gas and are focussed on sourcing renewable energy from UK generators.
“By taking part in ‘Wild Bristol: Winter’ you’ll be contributing to an amazing community-built collection of photographs we can all enjoy – snaps that highlight how we must work together to protect the planet, combat climate change and support our city’s wildlife and areas of nature.
“Let’s spread stunning shots and get Bristol talking about how lucky we are to be surrounded by such natural beauty.”
The ‘Wild Bristol: Winter’ competition has been launched to celebrate the Bristol region’s wild, wintery wonderland, while bringing together nature-lovers, passionate photographers and avid explorers, of all ages and experience.
Winning photographs will be striking, original and promote the responsible enjoyment of our natural world. The competition encourages photograph submissions from across the Bristol region, although not limited to a Bristol postcode. Entries will be accepted from areas of South Gloucestershire and North Somerset; from as high as Thornbury in the north, to the Mendips in the south; around Clevedon in the west to the Saltford area to the east (although no strict geographical criteria is in place.
Full details on the competition including terms and conditions can be found here.
