FREE-FROM MINNOWS CREATIVE NATURE SWEEPS ASIDE BIG BRANDS TO WIN MULTIPLE AWARDS

CREATIVE Nature, the challenger free from food brand based in Surrey, has won a clutch of prestigious product awards, beating off competition from much bigger names including Premier Foods (Cadbury).

The team have just won the prestigious Best For Home Baking in The Grocer new product awards. Their Rich Chocolate Cake Baking Mix, free of the top 14 allergens, stole the show. The judges’ comment was:

“This mix would offer a real treat for shoppers who suffer from allergies and was good value for money with a great springy light texture and chew which is really impressive for a free from product.”

It’s the first year, Creative Nature has entered these awards and another product their nibble treats Gnawbles – Cheeky Choc Hazelnot also made the finalist list for the Vegetarian/Vegan Sweet category.

Julianne Ponan, CEO of Creative Nature, said: “We cannot believe it. When you are up against big names in the food sector, you don’t expect to win. To win in the first year we’ve entered is astonishing. We’re proud of this baking mix and we know it’s delicious however it’s utterly fantastic to hear the judges loved it too.”

The awards come just days after the team also scooped two Quality Food Awards for two products in their Gnawbles range – Creemy Mylk Gnawbles won the vegan snacking category and Cheeky Choc Hazelnot won the free from sweet snack (no other finalists were chosen for this category).

Matt Ford, operations director and the man who created Gnawbles, said: “It’s been an astonishing week for us in our business to win so many awards. It’s a shame we cannot attend a face-to-face ceremony however our team will celebrate.

“We’re the first small producer – with a team of less than ten and a turnover of less then £2milllion – who have ever won Quality Awards three years in a row!”

Julianne Ponan said: “This has been a challenging year for every business and there are more challenges to face however I’d like to thank my team for their belief and commitment and to our customers who keep on supporting us and sharing their allergy stories with us. There’s a lot more to come from Creative Nature!”
