Novel Wines Review

Novel Wines are a unique online wine merchant specialising in wine from across the globe. This week we've been given the pleasure of tasting some of their English vineyard Aldwick Estate wines, and here's what we thought...

First of all, Wow! The wines came instantly, the next day in very concealed, protective packaging. We opened up the box to find 3 regular sized bottles of wine: a white, red and a rose, we couldn't wait to try these!

Aldwick Mary Rose

Type - Rose

Price - £12.00

This particular rose is the perfect mix of a dry, fruity wine! The running flavours of light citrus with hints of pineapple, made it a very easy drink! This would be a great recommendation for those looking for a light rose throughout the summer. We paired this with a cheeseboard and crackers but it can equally be paired with a grilled chicken dish!

Aldwick Flying Pig Red

Type - Red

Price - £14.50

This red wine was surprisingly light! A good thing though as the hint of cherry flavours running through made it refreshing and fruity. We found this was best served when chilled as well for maximum flavour! We paired our bottle with a cheeseboard platter and delicatessen meats, this was the perfect combo for us! However you can also enjoy this particular red with beef steaks or burgers.

Aldwick White Bacchus

Type - White

Price - £13.00

This was a medium, dry white with a delicate pallete of apricots, fresh cut grass and hints of elderflower which made it an easy drink. The perfect wine if you're searching for a sociable drink to enjoy with friends! We paired and enjoyed our bottle with a grilled chicken dish and vegetables but it can be equally paired with a delicious plate of fish!

We absolutely loved these wines and enjoyed pairing them with different foods! We would say they are the perfect wines to enjoy during the summer months.
