Atomic Kitten Announced as The Final Act in The Line-Up of MFOR Festival
One of the biggest girl bands of the 2000s – Atomic Kitten – have been announced as the final act in the line-up for the ten-hour Swindon music and family event MFOR Festival in July.
Atomic Kitten were confirmed this week with original members Liz McClarnon and Natasha Hamilton taking centre stage. They will be performing some of their hit singles and also new material.
The pair will be joining Pixie Lott, Peter Andre, Aston Merrygold and 5ive. There will also be a range of performances from other bands including Phatts and Small, Lyndy Layton, Dave Finnegan’s Commitments.
Organiser Graham Stobbs said: “I’m thrilled to be able to confirm the final line-up of the main acts. It’s wonderful we can welcome Atomic Kitten to Swindon and not only enjoy their hits but also introduce them to a new generation of fans. They will join the other acts to form part of a ten-hour extravaganza for locals, families and music fans from Swindon, Wiltshire and the South West.”
Atomic Kitten were formed in 1998 and have sold more than eight million records worldwide. They had a debut single “Right Now” which spent seven weeks in the top 40. Their biggest hit came in 2001. “Whole Again” went to number 1 in the charts and stayed there for four weeks. The song took their home city of Liverpool to the top of the global list for number 1 hits at the time, surpassing the then holder of that title Detroit. “Whole Again” was number 1 in 19 countries.
The band became the biggest girl group in Europe and has continued to perform with founder members ever since – alongside members enjoying successful solo careers.
The event – being held at Lydiard Park, Swindon on Saturday July 28 – will also offer a range of other experiences including a climbing wall and an inflatable assault course. There will also be community participation and a charitable element with money being raised for local causes as well as veteran charities Walking With The Wounded and Combat Stress.
The MFOR Music Festival takes place on Saturday July 28. Gates open at midday and the finish time is 10:30pm. Ticket prices are £49.95 for adults and children 5-13 pay £19.95. Information and tickets are available on the website at https://www.mforfestival.co.uk
