Blackpool Pleasure Beach Review

REVIEW: Family Day Out at Blackpool's Famous Pleasure Beach

We recently experienced the most incredible day at Blackpool's Famous Pleasure Beach Resort. It really is all in the title.

Situated perfectly on Blackpool's South Shore, Lancashire it was a good few hours drive for us but so worth every minute of the trip and the most fabulous day making precious family memories to last a lifetime as done by so many generations before.

We were a diverse group, one child age 10, two teenagers, two adults and a 70+ pensioner so everyone had different intentions and expectations about what we wanted from the day. Pleasure beach as I remember from my childhood lived up to every single expectation as it provided an array of things to do no matter what age.

The park dates back in parts to 1896, it is the most delightful blend of fairground nostalgia combined with modern and exhilarating attractions. As you enter you are greeted with all the noises and smells of the fair delicious fresh doughnuts, candy floss and laughter mingling in the air.

The park is spotless, with plenty of seating, food and drink establishments, vantage points and photo opportunities and is really easy to navigate around. All the staff we encountered were superb, so cheery and helpful.

Classic must do family rides and attractions are throughout the park such as the Famous Ghost Train, Dodgems, The Gallopers Carousel and Arabian Derby to name a small few combined with the Ultimate Thrill seeking White Knuckle experiences of the 235ft BIG ONE with the most impressive views of Blackpool from the top if you dare open your eyes. Get literally soaked on award winning Valhalla the best water ride I have ever been on and ICON the world's first double launch coaster (which we went on twice) and of course the Famous Big Dipper amongst several others.

For smaller visitors Nickelodeon Land has 12 rides to suit all ages and levels of adventure. Even though our children were older we couldn't resist, so of course had to go on. Throughout the day lovable, fun characters from SpongeBob SquarePants, Wallace and Gromit and Paw Patrol were on hand to greet guests and pose for photos amidst excitable chatter and delight from the young guests.

If you haven't experienced Blackpool Pleasure Beach before its high up on the list of must do experiences. You will not be disappointed. A pleasurable, joyful day that will stay with me forever and with so much more to see and do a return visit is certainly being booked.
