Your Total Guide To entertainment
Michael says he was so excited when he found out the Hamilton UK tour was coming to the Bristol Hippodrome, meaning he could stay at his own home and see his family and friends. Many of Michael’s friends have never had the chance to see him perform and now they finally can.
Michael was cast in Hamilton back in August 2023. Initially, he could not attend the audition as he was performing in Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations and the timings clashed. However, when the dates for Ain’t Too Proud changed, it gave him the opportunity to attend the audition. It was a 6-week long audition process,
ending with him being told he had the job on a Thursday and starting rehearsals for Hamilton on the following Monday! Michael says it took several weeks for it to sink in that he was actually performing in Hamilton.
When asked about some of his favourite spots in Bristol Michael says he loves Blaise Castle and anywhere down by the docks where he’s spent hours before getting lost on long walks. His favourite spot for a drink is The Apple at the end of King Street and he is looking forward to exploring more of Bristol in the coming weeks - when he isn't on stage of course!
For anyone who hasn't seen Hamilton Michael says this show is a R&B, hip hop, soul, jazz musical in one, and that this is one of those musicals you just have to experience. He guarantees you’ll be singing something from the soundtrack by the time you leave the theatre!
Hamilton is at the Bristol Hippodrome until Sat 22nd June. For tickets, visit - www.atgtickets.com/shows/hamilton/bristol-hippodrome/
