Bristol Zoo Reopens

The well known attraction is reopening this Tuesday, after its longest closure in its 185-year history, with covid-19 measures in place.

Bristol's popular attraction has been shut for more than 100 days, which is its biggest closure since opening, however will be reopening its doors this Tuesday, July 14th!

Keepers and staff have been working extra hard throughout the closure to ensure the animals are recieving the best care possible.

There will be a number of safety measures in place when they reopen, including restrictions on visitors to 25 percent of a standard day!

Here are the full list of new measures:

  • Limited number of tickets are available each day to ensure everyone has space to enjoy the zoo safely.
  • Timed tickets have been implemented, meaning staggered entry and allowing the zoo to carefully manage queues at the entrance.
  • A new one-way system in place to adhere to social distancing.
  • Volunteer navigators will be available to help visitors find their way around the zoo safely.
  • The site is completely cashless.
  • Additional handwashung facilities have been installed.
  • On-site cleaners are in place, ensuring toilets are kept clean.
  • There will be clear signage on the site to remind visitors to abide by social distancing measures.
  • Picnic benches have been spaced out across the zoo.
  • Queues will be marked with 2 metre measures.
  • Some acreas of the zoo remain closed - Playgrounds, indoor houses.
