One week until Oktoberfest-UK begins in Bristol
With only a week to go until the doors of Brunel’s Old Station in Bristol open for Oktoberfest-UK, Britain's biggest German festival. Find out what one can expect at this event.
Visitors can expect a full evening of traditional entertainment with live Oompah music, the World’s most popular wheat beer by the stein and Bavarian foods, all in the setting of Bristol's iconic Brunel’s Old Station.
Oktoberfest UK's unprecedented welcome to Bristol last year saw the event sold out. This year Oktoberfest-UK run for twos days. Early bird and tier 1 tickets sold out in record time but tickets are still available for 2014.
Oktoberfest-UK visitors will be welcomed through the door by Frolines in traditional Lederhosen attire. There'll be over 100 trestle tables where waiters and waitresses will provide one with the very best Weiss beer such as Erdinger and Fischer, all in traditional steins.
Oompah band The Bavarian Strollers will be playing from 6pm. There'll also be Bavarian entertainment from other live performers. Carefully selected, high quality traditional Bavarian food will be served from the Oktoberfest-UK’s passenger shed shack with an array of favourites such as Weisswurst sausage and pretzels. Visitors are also encouraged to get into the Bavarian spirit and get dress up in Lederhosen or Dirndl.
Visitors can book a single ticket but Oktoberfest-UK also cater for large groups of 8 or more who would like to book a table for the celebrations.
Oktoberfest-UK organisers said “We can’t wait for the Bavarian celebrations to begin next weekend. It is just been great to see how popular the event has been in Bristol. There are also only a handful of venues in the country that match up the Old Station, so the atmosphere is always incredible.”
