Ashton Gate Stadium Becomes Covid Vaccine Hub
The vaccination base was set up at Bristol's Ashton Gate stadium last week and has begun administering jabs.
The hub was set up by the army last month following the approval of the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine.
A vaccine developed by Pfizer was already been administered to people, but the Oxford vaccine is easier to store allowing more sites to assist with the vaccination programme.
What to expect:
- Safety measures have been put in place inside Ashton Gate's South Stand including cubicles with hospital screens and extra signage to control people's entrance and exit.
- Security guards have been recruited to maintain order vaccinations.
Since his visit on Monday, the Prime Minister has promised that the delivery of the coronavirus vaccine would be a 24-hour operation 'as soon as possible'.
