Award-winning coach to pen regular column for LGBTQ+ community

Award-winning coach, author and personal empowerment specialist Taz Thornton has been announced as a new columnist for OutNews Global, the London-based online magazine for the LGBTQ+ community.

Taz, who lives in Lincolnshire and works with clients globally, will be offering weekly advice on topics such as mindset, optimism, and positive thinking, promising a mix of coaching, natural language processing, mentoring, empowerment, and Earth wisdom tools.

OutNewsGlobal’s team of professional reporters, celebrity columnists and guest writers deliver features on politics, business, travel, lifestyle, sex and relationships, arts and culture, and entertainment for its readers in the LGBTQ+ community.

The opportunity came about after Taz was asked by OutNewsGlobal’s editor Rob Harkavy to contribute to an article he was writing about ‘rainbow washing’*.

“Out News Global is an established LGBTQ+ magazine that serves the entire community. I’m delighted to be able to join such an awesome platform, and be able to positively influence so many,” Taz said.

It is an issue close to Taz’s heart.

“As an out, gay businesswoman, I understand all too well some of the challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community and I hope to be able to support as many as possible by putting my experience and skillset to good use through Out News Global.”

Taz brings an impressive resume and extensive experience to the role. As a speaker, motivator and visibility coach Taz helps people to reboot their lives and businesses. Her accolades and awards speak for themselves. She was named Best Coach at the National Best Business Women Awards 2018, was a finalist for the UK’s Most Inspirational Businesswoman 2019 and was named Female Professional Of The Year, Central England, in 2020.

She has also appeared on the DIVA Power List, has been named as one of the Top 50 Global Women In Marketing and has been widely featured on TV and in the mainstream and LGBTQ+ press.

With Taz’s first column already garnering praise, Rob Harkavy, editor of OutNewsGlobal, is confident the column will be a success:

“After the past year and a half, we could all benefit from a healthy dose of positivity and I can’t think of anyone better than Taz to deliver just that to OutNewsGlobal’s readers. Taz’s upbeat writing style, her approach to personal empowerment and her natural empathy have already been a hit with our readers following publication of her debut column, and I can’t wait to read the next one!”

Taz lives in Lincolnshire with her wife Asha. For more information about Taz visit https://tazthornton.com

* Rainbow washing – This is the practice of governments, companies and organisations using the rainbow flag during Pride month in June who do nothing to support the LGBTQ+ community during the rest of the year. A conversation followed and the idea of a column was born.
