The airport has invited supermarket chains and businesses to bid for the opportunity to establish the store, which will be part of a £60 million development located across from the airport terminal.
The transport hub will feature a multi-storey car park, coach and bus interchange, a glazed bridge connecting the terminal with the car parks, expanded waiting areas, rest facilities, and an enhanced drop-off and pick-up zone. The convenience store will complement these features, adding a new service for travellers.
The selection of the store operator is expected by the end of November, and the transport interchange is set for completion by August 2025.
Several convenience stores, such as WHSmith and Boots, are already operating inside the terminal building.
