We The Curious

About: The somewhat quirky named We the Curious is home to Bristol’s amazing interactive science museum. There is something here that all ages will enjoy and look out for their Toddler takeover days which are completely geared to the under 4s too. There’s a Planetarium, a brilliant section featuring Aardman’s Gromit creations and a lovely cafe too. There really is so much going on here and it’s somewhere kids will love.

SS Great Britain

Price: £10.00

About:  The SS Great Britain is interactive in every sense (including smell) and a real treat to look around. This ship has been brought to life and it’s possible to get a great insight in to what life on this liner would have been like as it crossed the oceans in centuries past. It’s even possible to climb the masts for a really fun look down on the ship.

Bristol Museum & Art Gallery

About: Bristol Museum at the top of Park Street is a wonderful place to take children of all ages. There are so many exhibits from those on Egyptology to creatures of the past who lived near Bristol. They have regular special exhibitions and events such as a brilliant Chinese New Year celebration. This is a free to enter museum and there’s a small play area and lovely cafe on the ground floor.

Aerospace

About: Aerospace Bristol tells the incredible story of Bristol’s amazing aviation achievements and gives you and your family the chance to step aboard Concorde Alpha Foxtrot, the last of the supersonic jets ever to fly. There's loads to discover at Aerospace Bristol, starting from the earliest days of powered flight, through to today’s cutting-edge aerospace technology. There's aeroplanes, helicopters, missiles, satellites, engines and more to see and lots of interactive exhibits for all ages.

MShed

Price: FREE

About: The MShed is another free museum in Bristol and tells the story of the city through the ages. It’s a great place to visit with some really interesting interactive exhibits such as the air raid shelter which starts telling you stories of real people during the war as you stand inside it. There’s plenty of fun to be had here and there’s often touring exhibitions that take up some of the space.

Bristol Aquarium

Price: Online Under 12's £9.77

About: Not the largest of aquariums but a nice place to spend an hour or two down by the harbourfront. Bristol Aquarium takes you on a walk through its various exhibits including sharks, rays, a giant octopus and some beautiful sea horses. Bristol aquarium focuses both on seas from around the world and those closer to Bristol. Part of the aquarium is in a giant glasshouse which is perfect on colder days.

Avon Valley Country Park

Price: 2-16 years £9.00

About: 50 acres of beautiful countryside with farm animals and rare exotic species. Avon Country Park, near Keynsham  in Bristol also has an Indoor play barn equipped with gravity defying slides, rope ladders, soft play and ‘bouncy’ cushioned  areas, Lots of things to do here for everyone.
