We recommend
Running from 5 pm-10 pm between 3-12th Feb, this is a FREE, 11-stop, interactive light trail spanning across the city to excite, engage and illuminate the faces of all ages.
SCREAM the house down to light up a whole building on Corn Street, weave through the rainbow mist and laser beams on Castle bridge, and wander around 25 mirrored monoliths in Temple gardens.
Pledge your true allegiance to BRIZZLE by shouting CHEERS DRIVE at Bristol bus station and ALRIG T MY LUVVER in Queen's square to all passersby under a haze of pink and blue neon lights.
Create your own unique trumpet symphony in Quakers Friars, discover mermaids and unknown creatures in the harbourside, SWING by College green, and discover your inner child on 6 neon-lit super swings.
You can then waltz on down to Broadmead to create your own beautiful song on illuminated halos before having a neon rave down on Kings street and finally finishing in the tranquil final resting place of Hamlets, Ophelia in St Mary Redcliffe church (don’t forget to look UP)
There are attendance at every attraction, handing out handy trail maps and pointing you in the right direction should you need it. The whole trail, on foot, took us around 2.5 hours (with a 7-year-old) and it is far less busy during the week than on weekends where you will have to line up and wait your turn on attractions such as the swings and trumpets. There are also plenty of places to stop for bites to eat, a swift pint, and lots of places to start your light journey.
You do not need to do this in numerical order, rather navigate what logistically makes sense for you and your starting point (we started with number 11 eg)
This is dog-friendly, kid-friendly, accessible to all, and a magical way to see some places in a whole different light (pun intended)
This really is something that makes Bristol a truly magical place to be and is why we are known as one of the most creative hubs in the UK.
Do NOT miss out on this, it is a dazzling sight to behold and a much more interesting way of getting in your daily steps.
