Artists of all ages are being invited to paint and draw the Clifton Suspension Bridge as the iconic attraction joins John Lewis Cribbs Causeway in staging a joint 150th birthday celebration.
Coming together to celebrate their unique histories, the organisations have announced a competition to create images of the bridge in any two dimensional medium. The competition, which will run until Saturday 20th September, has four age categories (5-10 years, 11-14 years, 15-18 years and 18+) and offers prizes of up to £100 of John Lewis vouchers to spend in store.
Finalists’ artwork will be shown in the Place to Eat Restaurant at John Lewis
Cribbs Causeway during October 2014.
Chairman of the Clifton Suspension Bridge Trust, Chris Booy, said “Each week we are sent fantastic images of the bridge by local artists and photographers at all levels – everything from school projects and Instagrams to professional HDR photographs and oil paintings. We’re looking forward to seeing the range of images created for this competition.”
Artwork has to be submitted to either Nicola Mason, PR and Marketing Coordinator, John Lewis Cribbs Causeway, Bristol, BS34 5QU or Laura Hilton, Visitor Services Manager, Clifton Suspension Bridge Trust, Bridge Road, Leigh Woods, Bristol BS8 3PA by Saturday 20th September 2014 at 5pm.
