A direct train service between Bristol and Oxford is back on track after 21 years.
Louise Upton, the cabinet member for planning at Oxford City Council, celebrated the new service, calling it “a game changer for the region.”Great Western Railway (GWR) has launched two new return services every Saturday, connecting Bristol Temple Meads with Oxford, and making key stops at Bath Spa, Chippenham, and Swindon along the way.
The new direct service comes in response to a surge in demand.
The Saturday trains from Oxford to Bristol Temple Meads are scheduled for 12:03 pm and 5:12 pm, while the return trips from Bristol Temple Meads to Oxford will depart at 10:18 am and 3:18 pm.
With the quickest journey time between Bristol and Oxford starting from just one hour and 11 minutes, this direct route promises to be a swift and scenic option for anyone traveling between the two cities.
