We recommend
Well, today I have decided to write my final blog as hopefully the threat of Covid is receding and restrictions are now gradually easing.
I pray this virus is being eliminated and that we do not have to experience a second wave and that a vaccine will be discoverd soon.
I have greatly enjoyed writing my weekly blog, I hope you have enjoyed sharing some of my experiences during lockdown as well. Who would have thought when celebrating on New Years Day 2020 that I would be self isolating for at least three months and not being able to see my darling grandaughter Florence - my little bundle of joy. Her daily Skype chats have kept me upbeat and positive, as have my calls and window chats with Duncan, Fatima, Liz and Ross. Fatima and Duncan have renewed our interest in jigsaws and the weekly quiz with them and Ross's family have been a joy and something to look forward to.
SONG OF MY LOCKDOWN:
'That's What Friends Are For' performed by Dionne Warwick, Elton John, Gladys Knight and Stevie Wonder.
SONG FOR GOING FORWARD:
'Walking on Sunshine' performed by Katrina and The Waves.
QUOTE:
My Quote is metaphorical and comes from the wonderful Disney favourite Mary Poppins and is for you to put your own interpretation on:
LET`S GO FLY A KITE AND SEND IT SOARING.
LOCKDOWN LEGENDS AND HEROES:
Sir Tom Moore - what a shining light to lift our spirits.
All the NHS Staff, carers, essential services. retail staff and so many who selflessly carried on working.
All the children, their parents and families who adapted so magnificently to lockdown.
All the local volunteers who checked and shopped for those who were shielding.
Happy Father's Day next Sunday to all the dads who have been working at home or away and helping with home schooling and being supportive.
I celebrated my birthday at the weekend and it was a surprisingly joyful day in spite of lockdown. I had loads of cards, flowers and gifts and in the morning I was treated to a garden visit from Liz, Ross and Flo with CAKE and a beautiful rendition of 'Happy Birthday to You' from Flo.
Unfortunately 'rain stopped play' but in the evening we enjoyed a Zoom family birthday quiz (with drinks!) and this time we came joint second. Ross's Mum and Dad Veryan and James took the honours again so hubby and I still have to up our game! The evening ended with my darling Flo singing 'Happy Talk' to me!
Looking forward to the summer and more get togethers with the family and I'm so excited about the new arrival of Baby Hutchings in August - a sibling for Flo who I am sure will be a fantastic big sister.
Well I shall sign off now. I shall miss blogging to you all but I wish you a happy, safe and healthy future.
Love
Patricia
