Durdham Downs

About: The Downs consists of Clifton Down and Durdham Down, bordering the Clifton Village, Clifton and Redland areas of Bristol. Together they represent a huge area of protected parkland right on the edge of the city. 

The Downs is packed with a selection of beautiful trees and autumnal flowers making it a great place to head for an Autumnal walk. As well as being a fantastic walking destination, it is the perfect place to hunt for the best and biggest conkers! So if you’re looking for somewhere to relax whilst the kids head off conker hunting then look no further than here!

About: Westonbirt Arboretum is one of the South-West’s most famous Autumn walking destinations and as such is also a fantastic place to find freshly dropped conkers.

Located near Tetbury, The National Arboretum is renowned for its stunning nature trail that boasts over 2,500 different species of plants and trees from all over the globe, making it a great destination to find brilliant conkers this Autumn as you take a walk around the stunning scenery of the Arboretum.

 

St Andrew's Park

About: St Andrew's Park is a classic Victorian neighbourhood parkland with plenty of open space and a playground for kids! The park has good access for wheelchairs and buggies because of the many paths throughout.

Conker hunters should head straight to the Sommerville Road entrance of St Andrews Park to find a huge Horse Chestnut tree. Pretty paths wind through this classic Victorian neighbourhood park, which is a family favourite thanks to its great play area!

St George's Park

About: St George’s Park is a large Victorian suburban park with a pond, grass areas, large wheels park and a children’s playground.

St George's Park is particularly lovely in the autumn and winter months, when the park’s many trees are ablaze in the season’s shades and the forest floors are littered with many conkers. This is a kids playground for conker hunting and is the perfect autumnal activity for the whole family!
