Cheddar

The stunning village of cheddar is well known around the world for its cheese and its amazing gorge, and there is plenty to do during a day out at this Somerset tourist spot.

The village offers authentic tea rooms, cafes and beautiful riverside walks, as well as small gift shops and the Cheddar Toy Museum, if you're keen to show your little ones some history!

Chew Magna

Chew Magna is the largest village in the Chew Valley in North Somerset, and is finished with some beautiful, intricate buildings throughout the village.

There is a car park and visitor centre on site which can helpful for those who aren't familar, and there are opportunities for sailing and bird watching as well as walking along the nature trail.

Winterbourne

Less than a 20 minute drive away from Bristol city centre, lives the beautiful village of Winterbourne. This was the town that writer, J.K Rowling, grew up in and who wouldn't love to grow up in such a stunning, picturesque village.

There is a convenience store just off the High Street and various other stores to pop into while on a long walk throughout the village.

Pill

In North Somerset, the River Avon runs through a small village, Pill, where you will find a small harbour area and boats can be seen on the glistening water.

Just four miles from Bristol city centre, it is within walking and cycling distance and there are benches along the water's edge where people can sit and enjoy a picnic after a walk through the village.

Congresbury

The village of Congresbury also makes for a lovely spot to walk or cycle, with a good selection of pubs and restaurants along the way. If you head to Cadbury Hill, a designated nature reserve, you will catch a glimpse of stunning views over the countryside.

Congresbury is also home to the North Somerset Bird of Prey Centre, if you're a nature lover!

Kelston

The rural village of Kelston lies between Bristol and Bath, and is home to the house and gardens of Kelston Park.

The Bath Soft Cheese Company is based here as well, and has an on-site shop and cafe selling its organic dairy produce, chutneys and refreshments, making a perfect activity for a day trip here.
