There are many amazing things about Canada, from free healthcare which is very similar to the NHS but with lower wait and referral times, which means that you can be seen by a doctor for free and promptly. Not only is their healthcare second to none, but they also have excellent quality education and a large job market with a booming economy

Where are the best areas to live?

Ottawa – This city consistently ranks highly when it comes to the best areas to live for expats, due to its high quality of life, cleanliness, and friendly community feeling. It is especially great for younger generations, due to it boasting two great universities in the city. It has a population of around 1 million.

Burlington, Ontario – Located near /Toronto, this city sits just next to Lake Ontario and has over 580 acres of parkland to explore and hike, with some of the most famous trails in the world including Bruce /trail. It has pleasant weather, low crime and low unemployment rates – making it a great place to live and start a family.

St. Albert – A strong economy and an abundance of high paying jobs are not the only things that make this place so attractive. This small town has all amenities imaginable, with 85KM of bike trails to ride along the Sturgeon River. Edmonton is only half an hour away, and is the capital of the region. It is a great place if you are considering a slower pace of life, and want to enjoy everything Canada has to offer.

Vancouver – Beaches, coastlines and urban city living all combined into one magical place. The only drawback to this city can be finding a home, as the market moves so quickly and for a high price. Once you have secured a home, you can begin to enjoy everything this diverse and iconic city has to offer.

And don't forget, moving to Canada doesn't rule you out of buying a property back home in the UK either as a buy to let or a home to return to - you can get a UK Expat Mortgage to fund your purchase.

For those of you ready to go – make sure you organise your belongings and arrange shipping from the UK to Canada well in advance to avoid unnecessary stress and cost. Where ever you choose to live, you are sure to enjoy all that Canada has to offer.
