Your Total Guide To business

Jodie Fraser

South West entrepreneur Jodie Fraser wins two more major business awards

Jodie Fraser, founder of Fraser Allen Estate Management, is celebrating double success at the SME News Business Elite Awards.

The first success came when Fraser Allen were named the Most Trusted Specialist Residential Block Management Company – England. This was followed by further success in the Best Residential Block Management Specialists – South West England.

“It was a real shock to find out about these awards. We’re so grateful,” said Jodie. “SME News is a fantastic company, which does an amazing job of showcasing small businesses throughout the UK.

“The awards, and specifically the ‘Most Trusted Award’ means so much as we value trust and loyalty above anything else.”

Jodie is no stranger to awards success and industry recognition. In the last couple of years alone, she has won the Pandemic Response Award, was Highly Commended for Regional Property Manager of the Year and was a finalist for Property Management Company of the Year.  Last year, she was a finalist in three categories – Boutique Property Management Company of the Year; Influencer of the Year and Customer Service Award – at the Property Management Awards.

Jodie hopes that by winning high-profile awards she can help to inspire other women to become successful in a sector that is still very male-dominated.

“As a female-owned business, it is important for me to stay visible to prove that women can be just as successful as men in this industry. Winning awards can showcase women in a positive way and I hope it will encourage more to join the industry.”

And she is keen to point out that being a woman in the property sector is no hindrance to success.

“Yes, the industry is very male-dominated, not just other property managers, but also contractors that we liaise with on a daily basis. However, I go back to my point about trust and loyalty. We work with people who respect us, respect our knowledge and are professional and courteous.”

A big focus for Jodie in the coming year is to ensure that those who work in the sector feel safe in their work. She has been working closely with the Hollie Gazzard Trust on the Hollie Guard App, a smartphone app that provides enhanced levels of protection for women (and men) working alone. Once an alert has been raised, the app updates the user’s precise location every five seconds to identify where they are. As well as being a personal alarm, it is also an evidence catcher and deterrent.

“My aim is for every property manager to have access to the app to help protect them from harm.  This mission is not just for block management, but the whole property industry and beyond.”

SME News is a quarterly digital magazine for small and medium-sized business owners in the UK. It holds several awards each year to highlight important contributions made by businesses to various sectors and industries.
