Coronavirus (COVID-19) Planning

We would like to provide you with information relating to the coronavirus situation and to inform you of the plans we have in place to offer our services without interruption.

We want to ensure we minimise risk to customers, colleagues and others but to also ensure we still remain open for business.  With this in mind, our business will remain open, but our receptions may be closed. We understand this may cause inconvenience but considering the current situation, this is a measure we must take.

Government advise regarding the coronavirus situation can be found here.

We are currently:

  • Monitoring and translating latest Government guidance into action plans
  • Regular detailed guidance is being issued to all staff on the ways they can minimise the risk to customers, themselves and their colleagues.
  • Support critical roles to ensure they have capability to work from alternative venues if required.
  • Updating plans for switching high priority work between offices, and ensuring customers can continue to engage with us through e mail, texts, telephone calls, Facebook or letter.

Further information on the virus can be found on the NHS website.

Thank you for working with us to protect our customers, staff and families.
We hope that these measures will keep us free from Coronavirus. Should we encounter confirmed cases in any of our offices we will inform affected customers immediately and issue further information.

Guidance on client visits and inspections

In addition to adhering to national government guidelines, which has led us to closing our office receptions until further notice, we wanted to advise of our strategy relating to client visits and inspections.

In order to safe guard our staff and clients, we will not be holding any face to face meetings but we are still available to talk over the telephone or correspond by e mail, post, text, WhatsApp or Facebook.

Any work relating to lighting, heating, security, fire, health and safety, leaks, cleaning, lift repairs and grounds work will continue as normal. We politely ask that you do not approach our staff or contractors during this period to protect them and yourselves.

If any member of staff or contractor show any symptoms of COVID-19 they will NOT be attending work and will return when they have fully recovered, as per government guidelines.

Some additional safety provisions in place for ourselves and our contractors are as follows:

  • If a number of residents are self-isolating then the nature of the work, and also the vulnerability of the leaseholders must be taken into account. If the contractor feels able to go ahead with the job, additional precautions such as disposable overalls, disposable gloves, eye protection and a suitable face mask may be needed in addition to high levels of hygiene.
  • For everyone’s safety, Fraser Allen staff and contractors will not shake your hand and will keep a safe two meter distance when attending site. Hand sanitising or hand washing where possible will also be done before and after a job has been undertaken.

If you need to report a repair, please do so by emailing repairs@fraserallenem.co.uk or call us on 01242 399150.

For anyone who may be self-isolating, or are within a vulnerable group, we have a team of volunteers who can assist you if you need it.

COVID-19: Safety Advice for Using a Lift

There is little chance of practising social distancing when entering a lift and therefore it is strongly recommended that care is taken to protect yourself and others from the spread of the virus at this challenging time.

Some useful points below may be able to assist you.

  • The virus can survive on metal, glass and plastic (I.e. lift push buttons, on landings or in the lift car) for up to nine days unless properly disinfected so the best thing to do is avoid touching these surfaces all together. Using gloves or an item such as a pen or pencil to operate the button is advisable. If you need to use your bare hands, ensure hand washing guidance is followed and that you avoid touching your face as advised.
  • Avoid close quarters contact so when the lift arrives, if it is already full of passengers, it is advisable to wait for the next one or even take the stairs if you are able to do so. The restrictive sizes of the lift car may prevent your ability to stay the recommended two meter distance from the other passengers.
  • Please note - The surfaces will be regularly cleaned to ensure the microbes capable of transmitting the virus are neutralised sufficiently, however the above actions will ensure additional safety at this time.
