High Street Picks for AW15
Fashion blogger, and all round savvy shopper, Amie Kewley of Credit Crunch Chic gives us her top high street picks for AW15.
It’s that time of year again when the high street begins to stash away the remnants of the summer sale product and instead layer up the newness to tempt its way into Autumn wardrobes. There is plenty of choice and some fabulous finds on the high street, and here are some top picks from the key names.
Topshop:
Topshop has really focussed on edgy styling this season paired back to a whimsical seventies vibe. Black skinny jeans, a year-round wardrobe staple, are given a softer look with a textural seersucker blouse, and the shoe of the summer, the lace up, is transitioned seamlessly into the new season with a closed toe and block heel. For lips, a rusty toned red makes a simple and effective new season statement.
New Look:
Over at New Look, simple separates are interpreted in seasonal fabrics and colours to lend a sumptuous elegance to daily dressing. The key androgynous trend can be worked with a clean peg trouser and butter soft suede brogues, worn back to a playful Peter Pan collar blouse to bring the femininity. Faux furs and shearlings are set to be huge once more for the winter, so invest early in a curly shearling stole to stay ahead of the chill.
H&M:
The class of 1970 was a look that most high street stores interpreted over the course of the summer, but H&M has taken the mainstay of this trend, fringing, and fast-forwarded it into 2015. Suede takes a back seat as fringing appears delicately over simple tee shirt shaped dresses but the 70s is still very much in vogue in the footwear department, with block heeled platforms to rival those seen at Biba the shoe to be seen in. Graphic jewellery and simple cover-ups, to let the fringing remain the focus, easily completes this elegant look.
