The new stores represent a significant investment of £38 million, with £17 million allocated to the Bath location and £21 million to the Bristol store. These stores will offer customers a premium selection of M&S Food, Clothing, and Beauty products.
In Bath, M&S will relocate its central location to an 83,000-square-foot store in the SouthGate Shopping Centre. It will replace the former Debenhams store and current staff at the Stall Street store given the opportunity to transfer to the new site.
This expansion is part of M&S's broader strategy revealed in its recent full-year results, which includes plans to open up to four new full-line stores and nine new food halls across the UK within the current financial year.
In Bristol, M&S is making a return to the city centre with an 80,000-square-foot store in Cabot Circus, expected to create approximately 150 new jobs.
