Woodlands Tennis Club

If you live in east Bristol and are looking to; improve your fitness, learn a new sport, nurture or improve existing tennis skills, Woodlands could be the solution.

Located close to the High Street in Hanham, Woodlands has 2 well maintained macadam courts and have recently invested in one of the most energy efficient tennis court floodlighting systems in the UK. They have a spacious clubhouse with kitchen (free tea and coffee provided) and washroom facilities, plenty of free and easy on-street parking is available close by in and around Martins Road.

Catering for all ages and abilities, Woodlands have active Members from primary school age right up to some in their 70's, they even have one Member in his 80's who still plays regularly during their well attended lunchtime sessions.

For those who wish to play at a competitive standard, Woodlands has 2 teams currently entered in the Avon LTA league, a dedicated club night with coaching options is provided to support Members playing at this level.

Looking to the future, Woodlands' Junior Members benefit exclusively from excellent "in house" coaching plus school holiday, tennis themed, "activity weeks" provided by 2 qualified LTA coaches. During the summer months adult coaching sessions are also scheduled.

Run by its Members for over 70 years, Woodlands is self managed and funded with all subscriptions re-invested to maintain and improve Club facilities.

The Club has various ways to join, including a discounted family rate and a half price restricted option. A free initial visit is offered, so why not accept their invitation to "come & play", you're assured a warm welcome whatever your age or ability.

Directions when you arrive at the School:

Drive into School entrance from Memorial Road.
Pass first small car park on left then enter main School grounds, bearing to the left you arrive at the main car park.
Now on foot, proceed along the path signposted "to the Asroturf", this path goes around the main buildings to the left side.
After approx 50 metres the tennis courts are on the right.
Changing and toilet facilities are adjacent to the courts.
